Spectrographic Inspection

The chemical analysis of every melt is assured at sawbrook steel on one of two spectrometers. Each of these analytical instruments has an air and a vacuum spectral chamber that is designed to provide optimum resolution for the specific elemental wavelength being analyzed. Both of the spectrometeres use fiber optics to deliver the light from each analysis to the diffraction grating. A completed chemical analysis is obtained in less than 20 seconds from these windows based computer controlled instruments. Each unit is capable of analyzing a minimum of 12 elements on each analysis. Additional elements can be added if the need were to arise.
